Requires
Palm Flash Download Cable; PTI
Part Number 05AA0011. (This cable connects to the
Apex bill acceptor.)
Also
requires a Serial
Hotsync Cable. (This is not the
same as a USB Hotsync cable or cradle.) These
are available from most Palm accessory retailers, but we
also have them available for your convenience. Please
note that if you have an m100 or m105, you do not need
this cable - simply use the Serial Hotsync Cradle which
came with your m100 or m105.

Acceptor
Tools for Palm (TM) handheld
computers
(for Apex only - use the PC program for Trilogy)
Requires Flash and Serial
Hotsync cables.
Version
1.04 for OS4 Palms (m100, m105, m125, m130, m500, m505,
m515):
Apex5000_OS4.ZIP
Version
1.05 for OS5 Palms (Zire 71, Tungsten series T, T2, T3,
C, &
W):
Apex5000_OS5.ZIP
If
you were previously using v.1.05 with an OS4 Palm, you
should revert to version 1.04.
Use
your Palm to perform diagnostics, configure the acceptor,
and
"Flash Program" the latest releases of firmware right
to the bill acceptor! No EPROM programming hassles or delays,
simply download any new firmware release from this web site, "Hotsync"
it to your Palm, and use this Palm software to transfer it
to the Apex acceptor. (PTI customers will be given access to
Flash firmware updates).
Some
of the functions will not respond properly until you actually
connect the Palm to a PTI bill acceptor using the proper cables.
This download lets you "test drive" the Palm software
to get an idea of what it can do, even if you do not have an
Apex acceptor.
The
Apex Tools software will run on the following Palm handhelds: m100,
m105, m125, m130, m500, m505, m515, Zire 71, Tungsten series
T, T2, T3, C, & W. This
software will not work
with the Zire 21 or Tungsten E, which do not have the "Universal
Connector" required for the Serial Hotsync cable.
Once
you have the Apex5000.PRC file unzipped to your PC, you must
Hotsync it to your Palm in order to use it. This requires
the Palm Desktop Software which you probably installed from
the installation CD you received with your Palm. You can
also download the Palm Desktop Software from www.palm.com. |
